Seyyed Ali Mousavi told reporters today that Gilan province has about eight thousand and 120 gardeners and stated that Gilan has a privileged position for foreign trade with land, sea, rail and air borders.

Referring to the amount of kiwi production in the gardens of Gilan, he said: since the beginning of the harvest season, 64 thousand tons of kiwi produced in Gilan with an approximate value of 37 million dollars have been exported from Gilan customs.

According to the deputy of plant production improvement of Gilan Agricultural Jihad Organization, this amount of kiwi has been exported to Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan.

Mousavi also emphasized that Gilani gardeners are expected to harvest 200,000 tons of kiwi from 7,000 hectares of kiwi orchards this year.
